Of all the cities in the world, Jerusalem is the most important. It is mentioned over eight hundred times in the Bible. However, its importance is found not only numerically in Scripture, but most of all because it was chosen by God historically and called the “City of God.”
In addition, it will be the capital of the world when the Lord Jesus Christ returns in power and glory. Those who have received Christ as Savior will be reigning with Him in this wonderful city. Believers in the Lord Jesus have a wonderful and glorious future in store for them. The greatest of all will be the heavenly new Jerusalem—our future home.
